Examination grades

The Government Technical Examination for Type-Writing is conducted across four levels, and students progress through them as their speed and accuracy improve:

• Sub-Junior — the entry-level grade.
• Junior (Lower Grade) — the next step up in speed and accuracy; the pass requirement is 30 words per minute.
• Senior (Higher Grade) — the grade most commonly required in government and clerical job notifications; the pass requirement is 45 words per minute.
• Super-Senior (High Speed) — the highest grade, for advanced speed typists.
