The curriculum is aligned with the Government Technical Examinations (GTE), whose COA examination is held twice a year, every June and December.

Career relevance
A GTE-certified COA qualification is a strongly preferred or mandatory qualification for entry-level roles such as clerical staff, office assistants, data entry operators, administrative assistants, and front office executives — across both government and private sector openings.
Examination eligibility
To sit the GTE Computer on Office Automation examination, a candidate needs:
- A pass in SSLC (Tamil Nadu State Board or equivalent), plus a pass in Junior or Senior Grade Typewriting (English or Tamil) — or a pass in Higher Grade Typewriting on its own.
- A minimum of 120 hours of training at a recognized Typewriting institute, or a Government / Government-aided / self-financing Polytechnic College.
